The Second Week
Fescue keeps up her image
as the perfect mother and at first didn't allow the other dogs around the pups.
The last two days she is relaxing a bit and Ashop is allowed to come and have a
look from time to time. Tryfan is -wisely- keeping his distance. For some reason
she won't have him near the pups and I leave it at that. She probably knows
best. My mothers Berger de Picard is allowed to stick his head into the crate
though. During the course of Wednesday (May 29) and Thursday (May 30) slowly
their eyes opened and now all four of them look like little Sinatra's. Their
blue shiners stare into the world and their little ears shed dust as they open
up as well. They already are well traveled dogs, for every day I pick them up
and take them with their mom and the other dogs into the car to my mothers house
(a ten minute drive). We spent the evening there and then we head back again.

"Red Rune", 12 days, eyes open, 670 gram, already walking a bit (that
is, lifting his entire body off the ground when he hurries after mom). His nose
has become nice and dark, and so have his feet.

Puppy Two (I haven't
named the black ones yet).
12 days, eyes open, 620 gram, also walking and a
very complacent pup. There isn't much that daunts him.

Puppy
Three.
12 days, eyes open, 620 gram, and to all appearances identical to
Puppy Two. Even in character they are very similar.

Puppy One.
12 days,
the first to open his eyes, the smallest of the litter (580 gram), in looks
similar to Puppy Two and Three (just a little bit smaller, but that is all), but
with a different character. A mind of his own and he quickly found out that mom
comes running when he whines and he makes good use of that. He is quick on his
feet and moves around faster that anyone else. I even found him halfway across
the room when he was 10 days, because mom was getting her dinner and he was
hungry too.
That white thing is my hand :-)
